Erlangen does not have too much to offer visitors. The Botanical Garden is a highlight, if a bit of a work in progress. Small in size and a bit rough around the edges, it does not offer much explanation of the exhibits. The cactus section was nice.

For many people, botanical garden is not always the first thing that comes in your mind when visiting a city. The experience however might be more rewarding than you might expect. The Botanical Garden of Erlangen is located in the city centre, surrounded by a public park and hospital buildings, which makes it very quiet and peaceful place. Unless, a... More

The garden is really nice and has a lot of different plants and flowers. It has also a pool with big fish and lovely inside area with tropical trees. Do not miss the Japanese spot in the garden as well as the cave which is opened from time to time.

The "Botanischer Garten" is situated in a enclosed part, with a separate entrance, of the Erlangen "Schlossgarten", part of the Erlangen-Nürnberg university. The garden is nicely laid out and offers various habitats, in open air or in hothouses, where rich and various vegetation can be admired. I added some pictures to illustrate this review; pictures say more than a thousend... More

I'm a bushcrafter which means I want to be able to live in nature. This is why botany is very important to me. In this botanical garden I really learn a lot which is why I come regularly. It's free and also interesting for people who don't know much about plants.

Whilst the gardens are not huge they are very well set out. The variety of plants, trees and ponds ensure a very relaxing environment. I was lucky enough to visit in May meaning many of the plants were in flower adding to the colour and aromas in the gardens. Very much worth a visit.

I found this place to be very educational for kids to come and visit as well as the nature lovers. You can find all kinds of the plants, from the ones that grow in cold weather to the ones that grow in tropical countries to the ones that live in the desert. You can feel the difference in the temperature... More

These botanical gardens are absolutely lovely. They were a great opportunity to see some beautiful plants and get out of the sun. They are well kept and very enjoyable. My favorite part was the frog pond with both the frogs and tadpoles in it. The best part of the garden is that it is free.

Hello, Nice place to visit when you have a hour or two to kill. Indoor and out door displays. Great rain forest and desert plants indoors. Regards, Paul
