We visited today Neuschwanstein Castle and were absolutely stunned about the beauty of this castle. Tickets are not at all expensive (compared to similar castles or attractions in other parts of Europe) and the entire arrangement is perfectly organized / the guided tour gives you a perfect idea about the history of the site and King Ludwig's mindset which let... Ever since I seen a picture of this castle years ago, it was on my list of places I needed to visit. Dream achieved! Luckily there are actually 2 castles within the same area to visit. There is good and bad. The Bad Review part firstly There are a few packages to choose from. Get there early. One thing I... More

Beautiful castle as is shown in pictures. Scenic surrounds, beautiful ride and walk to the top but tours every five minutes with sixty plus people per group spoils the experience. Head phones great to hear the excellent guide but hurried through each room and with large numbers hard to see all paintings, items pointed out by the guide. Interior beautiful... More

We saw it in december 2016, so it was still in renovation. The view from on top is amazing, and the walk to the bridge is worth it. There is a nice walk to the top, but there is buses and horse drawn carriages that are not always working because of the road conditions. We reserved a tour to see... More

After all the hype surrounding this castle as one of the top things to do in Germany, I was quite disappointed. Firstly, the castle doesn't have much history and is relatively new. The views surrounding the castle and the view from the suspension bridge is great and really good for pictures. However, I was overall not very impressed. We didn't... More

What can one say fantastic views, guided tours was informative. Spend the time to explore not only the castle but the surrounding area. We took the horse and carriage up to the castle and once we finished we took a leisurely stroll down to town to explore the lake. Don't rush any part as it is well worth the visit.

There is no denying that Neuschwanstein is located in one of the most picturesque settings in all of Germany, but that's where the allure ends. From the start, you are headed along like cattle, fitting due to the never-ending mass of humans pouring out of large busses, pushing into and through you without a care as they lead a procession... Not recommended for handicapped as you must climb several flights of stairs to see the castle. Terrific guided tour included in the ticket. Carriage ride to the top enjoyable. Animals appear well taken care of.

Yes, it is a LONG and breathless hike to get up to it; yes, many of the rooms were never finished and the actual tour isn't all that long. But is it worth it? Absolutely! Now, a lot depends on the tour guide you get, and our tour was shorter than I wished it was, but it was full of... More

This is one of the most beautiful castles i have ever seen. The architecture is takes your breathe away. While driving towards the castle, You can see this castle nestled in the mountains from a distance. It looks as beautiful from distance as from the close quarters. Views of the lake and the other castle from the higher floors are... More
