Many years ago long before the range of calendar dates suitable for indicating the time of my visit were made available for completing this review I made a planned stop in Munich. It was my first visit to this city. I luckily had found and obtained connections by accident for getting inexpensive accommodations with a dormitory located on Ludwig Strasse.... More

The main buildings of LMU are located close to the city centre and can be reached either by foot or by train (U3/U6 station Universität). The interior is newly renovated and makes for beautiful photo shoots. Don't forget the White Rose memorial.

This University is also known as "University of Munich", is one of the oldest Universities in Germany. Very well maintained but blends well with the modern world. This university is also known to be one of the most prestigious universities in Europe. Also it has produced many world famous people. It was a great opportunity to have visited this place.

Usually you can only pass by and look at the beautiful buildings. However it is also a place to remember on the anti nazi mouvement Weisse Rosa.

Visited memorial to the White Rose student anti Nazi resistance movement in the main entrance hall and the free exhibition about its members just behind it. The university and its current students generously don't seem to mind the constant stream of visitors. Set in the cobbles outside are replicas of the leaflets the group distributed throughout Munich and in the... More

This university is not only a magnificent building, it carries the heavy history of the "Weiße Rose", the student organization who resisted during world war II by distributing leaflets to other students in this very university. The place is moving, humbling and is really worth a visit.

When you walk toward the main building look on the floor just before going inside. There are picture tiles set into the ground about the White Rose group (though the tiles are beginning to look a little worn now). There is an exhibition along the corridor of the main building (signposted) and you can either pay for an audio account... More

So humbling to read about the students known as White rose whose lives were taken cruelly simply because they dropped leaflets to other students in the rise against the nazi regime. Go and see the imprint of the leaflets in the paving stones outside the uni entrance too.
