While it's definitely a hike up here, there are some great views to be had of both the Englischer Garten and Munich from the top, and a wonderful beer garden isn't that far way.

The Diana Temple is the centre monument at the Hofgarten north of Residenz and an interesting thing to see if you plan to spend time in the garden before or after visiting the Residence. What you will see is an early 17th-century, Renaissance style gazebo...More

This is in the center of the Hofgarten. When we were there there was a young girl playing a violin. Worth a short stop.

Simple garden but a very nice place to stay and sit for a while. The centerpiece make it attractive. A well appreciated garden in the city of Munich

This a Renaissance-style temple with where there is often a musician playing inside. We were fortunate to hear Mozart on the violin when visiting there, relaxing on the benches and warming in the sun. A good relaxation point in Munich.
