Sited right beside the Weisser Turm, this large, humorous bronze sculpture gives a grim representation of the trials of marriage. Wonderful

My family and I stopped at many fountains and statues in Nuremberg, and this was my favorite. It was our 30th wedding anniversary, and I got a kick out of this Marriage Carousel. There was a lot to look at, and the humor in it...More

Pass the imposing White Tower (See My Review) and you arrive at this bizarre fountain called Ehekarussell, the "Marriage Carousel." Created by Hans Sach in 1571, this surreal gem depicts man and animal depicting various aspects of married life. Rather creepy, yet it is hard...More

One of the most amazing fountains I have seen. Not the largest, but incredible detail on the characters, apparently telling the story of a relationship (though hard to see that at points!) Often crowds around it, but worth taking the time to walk around and...More

Grotesque images of the various stages of married life in big brass statue form. Really close to a U Bahn station so easy to get too. In an open air square that would be great for a picnic lunch

This controversial and grotesque sculpture depicts a rather cynical view about the cycle of marriage. Comprised of couples in various grotesque and explicit situations, we found it endlessly amusing.

The fountain is big enough to find a place to sit on its edge and to enjoy a quick picnic (good bratwurst rolls at a snack bar just a few meters away) but the sculptures will provoke different opinions. We found them just plain ugly...More

I would not go to visit this place specifically, but if it is on your way, you can just check it out.

Great statue - but I had no idea what it was suppose to represent. I can totally appreciate the art work and skill of the sculpture makers and this one is probably the best of the sculptures in the town centre.
