Beautiful church - it won't take long for you to thoroughly enjoy it. You can easily visit St Sebaldus and the Fauenkirche on the same day and then continue on a lovely walking tour of the altstadt.

An interesting church if only for the posters showing the church and Nuremberg after the WWII bombing. Not the most impressive church we saw on our Austria/Germany touring but those pictures were fascinating. Could see the before and after.

Nuremberg was nearly 90% destroyed by Allied bombers. St. Sebaldus church, unlike most of the others in Bavaria was Protestant, not Catholic. But bombs are equal hostility destroyers. Sebaldus was left a heap of smoldering rubble. That was nearly 75 years ago. Today, thanks to...More

Loved this church! It is large and beautiful inside and the kept well preserved. We went on our own tour of this church but would have been more interesting to go with guide for more history details.

Another church in the old town area. Very similar size and architectural to St Lorenz (especially when viewed from the castle) but not quite as nice. I don't think this one has been as sympatheticly restored and I refer the other churches. It is interesting...More

This I believe is the oldest church in Nuremberg and it is amazing to see how after the war when this was destroyed, it has been repaired and reconstructed to it formal glory. A wonderful place to visit and enjoy the amazing architecture.

This is one of the three must see churches in the Nuremberg Altstadt area. This one has less of the art the other have but what it lacks there, it sure shows off the Gothic architecture. The outside is impressive while the inside features statues...More

I can't imagine the work that went into rebuilding this beautiful church after the destruction caused by the WW 2,and in such a way that the Gothic structure seems intact. Fortunately the many works of art inside, beginning with the stained glass windows, were obviously protected and...More

This fabulous structure was virtually leveled by the Allied forces during World War II and has been rebuilt close to its original state. An unbelievable achievement in and of itself, this structure is a cut above many of the churches in Europe. If in Nurnberg...More
