The castle of Nuremberg is in marvelous shape due to constant repair and the fact that it was well constructed and protected by an ingenious wall system. It was never taken in battle despite existing for almost 1,000 years. If you like castles, it is...More

We had a most enjoyable afternoon at the castle,it certainly has a lot of history and it is a tragedy that it was blown up during World War 2 and has now been totally rebuilt. Please go and visit ...it is well worth while.

After a hard walk uphill to the castle, it was a relief to wander around inside. The castle is well looked after and has been beautifully restored. Easy to spend 2-3 hours enjoying the building and its environment.

Nuremberg is an almost thousand year old (founded 1050) fortified city with a castle located at the highest point (on the hill/mountain). Although heavily bombed in WWII, the city's walls and fortifications have been painstakingly restored, so that when visiting, you can experience the interior...More

The castle is one of the highlights that someone has to visit in Nuremberg. The tower offers you a good view. You will need several hours to spend if you want to explore the whole castle.

Two key areas to visit: old Town and the Holy Roman Emperors Castle (walking tour); and the former Nazi Party grounds and HQ(museum now).
