The castle of Nuremberg is in marvelous shape due to constant repair and the fact that it was well constructed and protected by an ingenious wall system. It was never taken in battle despite existing for almost 1,000 years. If you like castles, it is...More

The castle is impressive. You can visit the exterior free of charge. At the entry, before the ticket offices, there is a lobby where you can watch a movie (in German and then in English) about the construction, enlargement and reconstruction of the castle. The...More

We had a most enjoyable afternoon at the castle,it certainly has a lot of history and it is a tragedy that it was blown up during World War 2 and has now been totally rebuilt. Please go and visit ...it is well worth while.

After a hard walk uphill to the castle, it was a relief to wander around inside. The castle is well looked after and has been beautifully restored. Easy to spend 2-3 hours enjoying the building and its environment.

This majestic imperial castle is nearly 1000 years old. Even if you just climb the hill to look over the walls at the city below (rather than touring the castle rooms), you will gain a lasting memory. A secret spot is the castle garden which...More

Nuremberg is an almost thousand year old (founded 1050) fortified city with a castle located at the highest point (on the hill/mountain). Although heavily bombed in WWII, the city's walls and fortifications have been painstakingly restored, so that when visiting, you can experience the interior...More

The castle is one of the highlights that someone has to visit in Nuremberg. The tower offers you a good view. You will need several hours to spend if you want to explore the whole castle.

It comes down to have you been to another Germany old town? If not, then it is a yes. If you have and enjoyed the other one, then I would go. If you do like seeing old buildings/walls or moats, then do not go. I like old... More

Two key areas to visit: old Town and the Holy Roman Emperors Castle (walking tour); and the former Nazi Party grounds and HQ(museum now).
What are the open hours for the Nuremberg Castle during the week (M-F)? Thank you.
