This place is beautiful and brimming with history. I could easily spend two hours hear trying to absorb and investigate the artistic and architectural elements of this place. It might be better with a guide.

By far more interesting than the Cathedral. This church has a little bit for everyone. It's further off the beaten trail so it is quieter, more ornate, and has more character. The entrance through the courtyard is stunning.

Yes, another church - but one of the very best. St Emmeram Church/Abbey - apparently now actually a basilica (minor). One of the most spectacular churches I've visited in Europe. An absolute must if visiting Regensburg.

Sorry, no gift shop there. This church is not on the common tourist path. I also didn't see an office. Maybe you can contact the parish through their web site: just put in: "st-emmeram-regensburg" in your browser... More
