The church is so filled with natural light & its interior colouring which enhances its beauty. The tomb chapel of the Fugger Family is here. The Goldsmiths Chapel has stunning 14th century frescoes. A painting by Lucas Cranach the Elder of Martin Luther is here. The Museum is well worth spending time in & starts with the Middle Ages follows... More

The new Luther museum makes this a 'must see' attraction. The church (and the City) has great history, but the addition of the museum in the church buildings just brings it all home. Suddenly the feverish atmosphere of the time of Luther and the Fuggers (and Columbus and so much more) clicks, and the turmoil of the years that follow.... More

I looked at the notice confirming the church had converted to Martin Luther's ideas in 1545. I looked at my watch, a direct copy of the one worn by Kirk Douglas in the movie Heroes of Telemark. The time was 9:45. I wanted to spend some time in the city after a meeting. I thought of all the places in... More

Not many places in the world can say that history was made here - this is the place Martin Luther lived during his1st negotiations with the Catholic Church. The free of charge museum is worth visiting, the building is largely from the 14th century with additions until baroque. Do not miss the "Fugger Altar" reliefs - they are about the... More

Dominantly white inside. A remarkable sculpture stands in front of the organ. Beautiful paintings dotting the interior.

The church is wonderful. Thanks God, there are not too many people, you have the opportunity to really watch everything. There is a small museum upstairs, where you can get some information about the reformation. It was a nice visit.

Beautiful !!! The white color of walls and ceiling, in contrast with art pieces and paintings makes the church a lovely place. It's full of history and you can see Martin Luther's staircase with Lutherans manuscripts, the room he lived and other things about Protestant Reformation. The 14th-century church is a good place to visit in Augsburg
