What a beautiful historic town and it is still a viable town where people live. The history of the town is interesting. Great to walk around and see the different architectural buildings. We spent many hours strolling and stopped for ice cream.

While not a large town it is perhaps the most authentic as there did not appear to be any "modern" buildings. The traditional high-peaked, shuttered buildings come in many different colors all cheek-by-jowl and incredibly scenic. Walking about the cobblestone streets early in the morning if it were not for the cars parked in the streets you might well imagine... More

If you want to enjoy historic Germany, visiting Dinkelsbühl is a must-see with houses built as early as in 15th century - and every single house just beautifully restored. Awesome! The whole old town is surrounded by a fully intact town wall with a number of gateways.

Dinkelsbuhl is a less traveled version of Rothenburg that seemed to have more German tourists than foreign ones. There is less to see than Rothenburg and the buildings are just a little less quaint. However, the restaurant seen is decent and the entrance into the town past the lake is very pretty. You won't need a full half day, but... More

Nice and very clean historic town, if the cars would not be allowed within the city walls, you could imagine to be 100 years back. Absolutely worth visiting if you are in the premises

We walked around the city on the intact original wall of the city. Very cool. The city is well maintained and clean with parking just outside the walls of the city. Highly recommended.

Very walk-able town that surrounds you in history. Several gateway towers, beautiful hotels, restaurants, homes and churches. Great views from the top of the city wall. A map is available with suggested walking routes.
