Ries Crater Museum is a good way to spend a few hours. It tells a lot about how Nordlingen came to be and what NASA has explored here. There are some amazing exhibits of fossils and meteorites. The only problem I had was the fact I don't read GERMAN and most of the exhibits are written in German. There is... More

There is only German and another European language available. No English translation for all word boards. There are alot of rocks and fossils exhibits but since we did not understand the words on display, there was little meaning to everything we saw. The staff is great though, knowing that we were English speaking, they asked if we have some time,... More

There is no audio aid provided. All the info are also written in German only. As such, it won't be good for non-German speakers. There are many exhibits here but unfortunately, we couldn't appreciate any due to language barrier.

Interesting museum about the crater. Seeing a moon-stone should be interesting for most people. The text are almost exclusively in german, but they do provide english tours (check beforehand), and info-films in english. Not expensive. Best to pay cash, I don´t think they accept visa.

Side detour along the Romantic road from Nuremberg to Rothenberg. Great for students of science and astronomy. Well documented and illustrated even though its in German but still a non-german speaker can just about understand.

A very interesting museum explaining the geology of the area and the meteorite impact from 15 million years ago. Unfortunately only German is used for the multi-media and other displays.

A very nice and small museum, but with a lot of people around, I was unable to get to some of the displays to read more about meteorites.

Worth a few minutes of time, don;t bother with the literature just try and understand that a crater created the place and some unusal rocks are part of the town.

Now I'm not one of those people who believes everything should be in English, I'm happy to deal with menus in countries all over the world, but it seems that as the international language is English and a museum on this subject would want to attract an international audience, it is short sighted in the extreme to have all the...
