While staying in Bad Mergentheim, it had been suggested by some locals that we should go to the city of Rothenburg. There, we could check out Kathy Wolfahrt's Christmas Store to buy authentic German Nutcrackers. Daily bus tours are available, but we had a car so we headed out for the 30 mile or so drive to buy some souvenirs.... More

Rothenburg town hall is a magnificent building. Unfortunately at the time we visited the town it was a bit hidden behind stands prepared for Christmas so we couldn't fully enjoy its beauty. But I exceptionally enjoyed view from the tower. I highly recommend to climb to the top, if it is open. It offers amazing views to the town.

Beautiful & clean place, it is also called the new town hall. Full of shops & cafes, with old world charm, well maintained architectural buildings. Lovely for photographs. Also make sure you are around to see the Glockenspiel which is a lovely musical experience a must see if you are in Bavaria. It is a clockwork movement of life size figures... More

It was the second time I visited this place and it still look the same. I fell in love with this city when I first visited the place 2 years back and I cannot deny the fact that this is my most favorite city after my hometown. Its a historic and a magical place I will never ever forget.

You cannot miss the Town Hall because it is in the center of town. It is surrounded by cafes and shops that make it very lively and sometimes there are musicians playing their music. Worth taking several pictures.

The Town hall is in the middle of the town, Got there about 4:30pm and the building look great in the day but at night it is the best. Best to go to this town before sunset the views is so beautiful.

The story goes that if the Mayor could drink a whole litre of beer in one gulp, his town would be saved from a siege. This clock demonstrates the action of the beer being drunk on an hourly basis. But you must watch carefully not to miss it. The statues do not come out, you have to stare at the... More

Absolutely gorgeous town square but littered with tourists in every direction. We were unable to stop and take in the sites as it was just too crowded. Somewhat reminiscent of the Prague central square but much smaller. Dinkelsbuhl was just as pretty but much more peaceful as it was much more normal people just going about their days instead of... This is my favorite place to go in Germany. It just feels like a old German town with lots of charm.
