This was one of my favourite art museums. It was rather small, but 80% of the works were really interesting. It took about 30 minutes to walk through and enjoy the exhibits and the entry fee was under 5 euros. I loved the contrast of...More

The Museum at the Cathedral (Museum am Dom) opened its doors in 2003 and features about 700 art pieces from the last 1000 years. The 1800 sq. m exhibit contrasts contemporary art with older works.Great sculptures outside!

This museum is not for everyone especially if you are not into religion. It has both modern and old art works. The last supper took our interest as did the exhibit on Bishop Eckhart. We were taken in by the bound figure on the steps...More

This museum offers a permanent collection that combines modern with traditional (older) art. Modern art, at least to me, is supposed to evoke some emotion or connection to the piece in the viewer. These pieces only seemed to shock. I did not find it worth...More

This museum is well worth a visit. It is arranged by "topic" - so everything on the Last Supper for instance is together. So there are a artworks dating back hundreds of years beside 20th century depictions of the same subject. It is really clever...More

This museum gives a very interesting view of broadly religious art. By displaying new and old side by side; and older pieces and modern interpretations of them it gives the visitor a really interesting perspective on the themes displayed.

Museum am Dom in Wurzburg is a uniquely crafted display of religious art dating from the 10th-21rst century. Displays are theme rather period based. There are over 700 art pieces in 1800 square meters of display space. What is unusual about the museum is that...More

Because of the "Museum am Dom Wurzburg" title you might think this has something to do with the Dom and its history. It doesn't. Rather, it's a small art museum. Not particularly interesting, not very well organized. I left disappointed.

There is a mix of modern and old, statues paintings from the 15.-17. century and also from 19.-20. century. There is no comparison, but you can have the feeling, that all time the religious was in the middle of all composition. It is a very...More

Thought it would be a museum about the Dom. Is actually just an art museum - but a good one at that!! Mix of old and new art and artefacts some from last year, some from 500 years ago, much of it with a religious...More
