Jeremy was fantastic. My family and I (five total, three young adults plus two grown-ups) spent 7 days in Berlin ove the 2016 Christmas holiday. Jeremy delivered everything he promised. He met us at our rental apartment and sat down at our kithcen table to explain the day-long tour and laid out options based on our interests. We did tons... More

Pre-booked this tour from Australia for myself, wife and two adult children well knowing the weather would be unpredictable in the first week of the year. Even the cold and rain didn't spoil the experience of Nicolai walking us through the highlights and historic backdrop of some of the most important events in modern history (spiced up with some of... Berlin is not a big city, in number of people, but it is bursting with a fascinating history, All of which have had impact on the city. My wife and I we fortunate to visit Berlin in December 16. We were introduced to Jeremy through a friend who recommend him as a tour guide for the city. They were 100%... More

don't have much to compare against since it's the only personally guided walking tour i've ever taken , but can honestly say i was astounded not only was jeremy knowledgeable and informative, but perhaps more importantly, he was: personable, amusing, and very likable sensitive and understanding, and not judgmental about some of the uninformed questions i posed enthusiastically sharing of... Jeremy provided an essential walking tour for tourists interested in the social, political and architectural history of Berlin. His knowledge, passion and communication skills made for a great experience -- and offered penetrating insights into the life of this complex city. Highly recommended!

We have had the pleasure of visiting Berlin 2X and touring Berlin with Berlin Experts which made all the difference. While we had Jeremy both times, we are certain we would have been as pleased with any of the professionals from Berlin Experts. There are many guides in Berlin, but NONE like Berlin Experts. The collective knowledge and voluminous research... More

Had an excellent day with Lynsey our Scots guide. Very knowledgable of the areas walked at a good pace to get everything in. Helped we had an ok day weather wise and that we were all happy to listen to her commentary.

I had two tours - one with Jeremy for Berlin and one with Robert for Sachsenhausen. Jeremy is a transplanted American who is knowledgeable, interesting and fun. He very much impressed on us how Germans do not say "sorry" for the past atrocities that occurred in WWII as that would allow them to move on and potentially forget, but instead... More

We went on November 24, 2016 and Jeremy was not available, so our guide was Robert Sommer. We spend the most splendid day in Berlin with Robert. Luckily for us it was a sunny day, so we got to walk all day long following and listening to Robert. Robert is a historian, and his passion for history is contagious. He... More

I felt there was too much advertising of other tours on offer. Some of the information was interesting but I wish I'd done one of the other tours involving some form of transport. There are go-karts, segways or even bicycles etc..

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
