This was a good place to visit if you want to kill some time in Berlin. Few good sculptures in there, fun experience. Love the Star Wars area. Only downside was too many people, needs to be a limit to how many people can be in there at any one time I think. Buy your tickets VIP online , lines... More

If suddenly bad weather caught you in the center, visit this famous museum. It's funny to wander among the "stars". It will be interesting for children, adolescents, well, and adults to be photographed for fun with the Beatles, Madonna, Merkel and many other celebrities.

Madam Tussauds is not that far from The Brandenburg Gate across and along a bit from the Adlon Kempinski Hotel. This Madam Tussauds is small and I must admit been in a few around the world and so far this is the worst, the brochure they have one in English is half the size of the German version when I... Many famous people, stars, players, etc. The good thing is that you can touch, the models and have photos with them. there is also some decorations and clothes you can put "for free" to have a photo with some characters. Variety of Wax arts in different positions where you can duplicate or complete to have a very good photos. Inside... More

When you go to Madame Tussaud's it's always going to be a good attraction. Had very many of the famous wax works there and is a great one for pictures. There was a Star Wars exhibition which I particularly liked as I'm a big fan. The reason it's not for a 5 is that for the price it's very short... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
