Berlin is known for its art and the East Side Gallery did not disappoint. It is close to local transportation (tram, metro, subway) so it is easy to get to. The wall itself goes on for several blocks and there is plenty of art to...More

I recommend visiting the Wall early in the morning on a workday. We went there on Saturday afternoon and there were many people. You need to see the Wall art slowly and rushing between people taking selfies might ruin it for some. It was definitely...More

The gallery is a part of the original Berlin wall near the Oberbaum bridge which has been re-purposed as an open air art gallery. The wall has been painted with beautiful murals by local and international artists and is a major tourist attraction. Near the...More

Really worth seeing - another free site to visit and a different way to see more of Berlin's history that isn't as confronting. Also tells you more about Berlin's artistic history

I think it's great how they took a very dark piece of human history and turned it into something fun. The artwork reinvented L reinvents this terror

Interesting to view an outdoor gallery, with the wall having been painted by many different artists. Probably about a couple of kilometres long. Liked some of the art but not all but it was a shame some had been subjected to graffiti. There on a...More

One of the most interesting places to visit in Berlin. It should be right up there on anyone's "must do" list while visiting this beautiful city

Visited with friends as was on the must see list for us, some good artwork to see but alongside a busy dual carriageway..also the area around the train station was very rough with a lot of homeless/drunks that made us feel uncomfortable walking towards the...More

It was a beautiful day and perfect for walking the mile or so of the East Side Gallery. It was helpful that we had a German companion so he could translate the language for us, but, even if you don't have that, the different panels...More

It's not greatly lit, but you can still see it quite clearly during the night (if you have decent sight). If you want to check out the full details and/or don't have the best pair of eyes, better to go during the day ;-)
