I am not big with outdoor activities in the cold, but the short drive through the magnificent forest and the long walk on Peacock Island was perfect! Nature at it's best! The colors, the fresh air and the calm can not be found anywhere else. The buildings on the island are not impressive at all, but the nature is. I... More

This island can be accessed from Wannsee S-Bahn station with the bus 218. Just check the departure times of this nostalgic bus because it departs like once in an hour. Arriving to the Pfaueninsel dock takes almost 10 minutes. From there, the ferry departs in 20 minutes intervals, costs 4 euros, takes seconds to arrive the island which is very... More

Find your way to the Pfaueninsel on a sunny day and you won't regret it. Peacocks abound under foot - and seemingly under every bush. Lovely gardens, picturesque small chateau castle hideaways of German royalty, and a fabulous aviary of beautiful birds all with the backdrop of the gorgeous Wannsee and the boats cruising by. Perfect afternoon getaway from the... More

By train and bus, Peacock Island is about an hour away from the center of town. When the 218 drops one off, there is a short walk to a ferry which has about a 2 minute crossing. I traveled on foot (no other choice) around the island. There were many peacocks some caged some not, some interesting structgures, a very... More

We finally visited this place and were so glad we did. We came by car, and just parked as close as we could to the ferry in one of the free parking lots. The ferry ride over was 4€ per person round trip, and the ferry itself runs back and forth every few mins so there isn't much waiting. The... More

Finally made it to Peacock Island following numerous previous trips to Berlin and always dropping it off the itinerary at the last minute due to the journey out of town required to get there. So glad we made the trip this time on a lovely, hot summer's day. The journey was very straightforward - S-Bahn to Wannsee then bus direct... More

My mother visited many times, in the late twenties and early thirties, and I have been meaning to visit Peacock Island for many years and finally managed it this year. Take a train to Wannsee and then hop on a 218 bus. The final part of the journey is the shortest ferry ride I have ever been on. The weather... More

Perfect way to spend an afternoon if you need a break from the commercial and consumerist chaos of the city. Just a short trip on public transport from Charlottenburg through the forest, it's amazing that such rural delights exist so close to a major city. Walking around the island with it's bucolic setting, quirky buildings and peacocks roaming wild is... More

Quiet and gentle retreat from the city bustle - a very special place. Accessible by ferry (4€ return) which runs according to demand, rather than a timetable, the island offers secluded walks and unexpected surprises in its unique buildings. The peacocks are stunning and the water buffalo curious. No bikes permitted, but these can be left by the ferry embarkation.... More

Pfauenisel has convenient public transportation, you can just take the bus 218 from S bahn Wannsee station. It's a protected area, which you can enjoy the beautiful natural and amazing peacocks and peahens. In the middle of the island is a wide lawn area, where you can just simply lie down, enjoy the sunshine and chill down a bit, or... More
