Regardless of the freezing temperature we had a fantastic time on our tour last week. George was the prime reason as his stories and personal touch really built upon that 5th star. Definitely recommend Berlin on Bike for an alternative, fascinating experience that will permanently leave a mark on you.

The Berlin Wall tour with George was really great. The personal stories connecting past and present really resonated with me, and made this tour so much more than just a sightseeing activity. Was totally worth it, even in the freezing cold!

Gary was a good tour guide. A good understanding of the facts and figures, only a few small inaccuracies, I would definitely recommend the tour to all from stag dos to family days out!

I had been recommended this particular bike tour and finally got to do it on my second visit to Berlin. Worth going a bit out of town to start the tour; you see a great brewery and the tour guides are all knowledgeable and fun! We were lucky with the weather. Carrie was super and we loved her! Great value... More

Great tour of Berlin and the best way to cover the city in half a day. Our tour guide Lauren was top notch and knew the history and culture brilliantly, while being engaging and helpful.

Sue, Peter, Anna and I went on an very informative ride with Lauren. She was charming and knowledgable. Berlin is as flat as a pancake and the pace was slow enough for me to keep up. Lauren says she has had complaints about the lunch stop but our Currywursts were lush.

Hello James, Sue, Peter & Anna, thanks for your nice review! We are happy that you enjoyed the ride with our lovely Lauren! Indeed Berlin is flat as a pancake. We ride at a gentle pace with enough time for taking photos. So as long as you know how to ride a bike, anyone of any fitness level can handle... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
