Even if you are not staying at The Adlon, you really should visit the lobby bar for a drink (or two). The setting is elegant and oozes class. The elephant fountain ( from the original hotel) sets the scene. Cocktail choices galore, and you can also have an elegant afternoon tea. This is a 5 star and world famous hotel,... More

Very nice, well located, excellent service. I would recommend it without any hesitations. I had totally met our expectations. The Brandenburg Gate is just a one minute walk from the front entrance.

I have visited Berlin many times, and often said I'd like to have afternoon tea at the Adlon, so as it was my 50th birthday we decided to book a Saturday afternoon. The hotel is very stylish and luxurious as you'd expect from a 5* hotel & the staff extremely well presented. We chose the afternoon tea with the pink... More

Went there after a visit to the Holocaust Memorial and enjoyed the contrasting plush luxury of the iconic Kempinsky Adlon Hotel's lobby bar, extremely well located on famous and also iconic Unter den Linden, at the Brandenburg gate. The Lobby Lounge & Bar is a chic place to have coffee, cocktails or a light meal. Service is at the standards... More

Stayed here back in March and also had a few drinks in the lobby bar. Excellent hotel and bar in every way you can imagine and the staff is very nice and polite.

Visited hotel by chance after a day museum visiting in Berlin. The place is just so nice. Attractive Art Deco feel and interesting heritage background. We happily rested here for a couple of hours in the end. We had super service from very pleasant staff. ended up with three glasses of house wine each in the end - €6 each... More

I had a Tasse heiBe Schokolade (Cup hot chocolate) for 7,5 Euros, on a Friday mid-morning. No crowds and a chance to get out of the cold and regroup. The hot chocolate is not the weak stuff we get in America. This was a thick, rich flavor. They also served a small pastry on the side. There was an open... More

Went for tea on a Sunday, place very crowded, but we got a table swiftly. We walked around the lobby a bit first, which is a low-ceilinged, full-on beige marbled lobby pretty much like any other luxury hotel in the world - it has absolutely no features to make this uniquely Berlin. Dress code for the bar is casual, and... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
