Terrible, TERRIBLE venue. Extremely hot and stuffy, no air conditioning of any kind. If it is this excruciatingly unbearable for the audience, I can only imagine what hell performers must endure! Then when I want to go outside, I get told by security staff that I can't?! I was stopped and told I should wait! What kind of fire/safety hazard... More

We saw Mogwai play a show along with a film. Great sound and comfortable seating. Although, if the seats are not allocated, it may take some time to get settled. It's a beautiful space, centrally located, so it's easy to reach. Worth looking into the courtyard if nothing is on.

I've been here a few times for German political cabaret and more recently for the Rocky Horror Show in February 2015. The location is extremely central and has historic Berlin charm. It is comfortable and an interesting mix of design. If you want to catch a show here, I can recommend it!

We went to the Palast to see "the Wyld" an amazing show that includes all sorts of entertainment including dance and acrobatics. The Palast has the largest stage in the world and it is worth seeing a show just to see this fabulous Art Deco theatre, we were blown away by it. Even the set up of the theatre seating,... More

We had to go down to the cellar-bar where the perfomance took place. Very cosy place....we felt just like being at home with some friends! The perfomance we watched was great: we will come back again! The location is great - it is just a minute from Friedrichstraße train station

Old-style theater / concert hall, great ambience and acoustics. Seats were neither the most comfortable, nor the biggest ever but the overall experience was worth it.

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
