A lovely collection of work. Well worth a visit if you enjoy this particular style of art and design pieces, and especially if you are looking for something that is a little off the beaten track, not on the usual list of tourist attractions. Unfortunately they were busy setting up a new exhibit when we visited, but it was still... More

I had a museumpass so went there to see as it is on museumpass list. However, I was only permitted to visit the ground floor where there are not many things to see. Maybe the rest is better. Why not visit it if you have museum pass and you visited other 2 museums near by which are 10 times better!

This museum is almost in front of Charlottenburg Palace, and next to Museum Berggruen. So if you want to visit those places, it is very convenient. You may need to walk from U-Bahn Sophie-Charlotte Platz (this is the closest U-Bahn) but it is lovely area, so you will enjoy it. When I visited this museum 4 years ago, I was... More

This museum gives a very good picture of the parallel development of the applied arts (furniture etc) in France and Germany during the 20th Century, and the striking collaboration between innovative craftsmen and industry in Germany. But the highlight of the museum is undoubtedly the glassware, as they have a comprehensive collection of fantastic crafted Italian glass from Murano.

Loved this museum as it is dedicated to Art Nouveau, Art Deco and Functionalism. The museum shows arts and crafts, glass, ceramics, porcelain, silver and metalwork together with furniture, rugs, lights, graphics and paintings. If you could ever imagine having a home decorated in that wonderful time period, you can imagine it here!

Visited with my son (who had little interest in the displays). I thought the museum was just great, with a fine collection of objects, well displayed. Being across the street from Schloss Charlottenburg makes it very easy to see both in a single trip. Very highly recommended-- again if the subject matter interests you.

This museum is a bit out of the way. So it requires a conscious decision to visit. However, the furniture built in Art Deco and even older styles shows how craftsmanship in the service of design becomes art. It calls to mind my mom's stress on high quality work; only that the designs of desks, armoires, and other furniture are... More

A charming museum, just across the road from Schloss Charlottenburg. Contrary to another report on Trip Advisor, we gained admission on our Museum Passes without paying any additional fee. (The Brohan appears in Visit Berlin's booklet about museums, and is designated as being covered by Museum Pass as well as Berlin Welcome Card.) There are beautiful examples of Art Nouveau... More

My 2nd visit want any as brilliant as my first, but I still love visiting here. I enjoy seeing the lines of the furniture, the porcelain & glass.

This is a fun small museum if you like Art Nouveau. Decorative arts change from time to time. You can see the whole place in about an hour, but it is great. This museum is only a block or two from Schloss Charlottenburg, so you could see both on the same day.

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
