Such a simple and unobtrusive memorial. Take time, reflect beside the pool, read the history of the Sinti and Roma's persecuted and murdered, beginning in 1933. A quiet setting, a beautiful memorial.

This is a lovely memorial, very peaceful and thought provoking, the persecution of the Roma isn’t something people usually think of when it comes to the holocaust and for that it’s a worthy visit when in Berlin. Also the red squirrels are very friendly.

A reminder that it was not just the Jews that suffered under the Nazis. This is a reminder that thousands and thousands of Roma and Sinti were murdered. It is a well thought out memorial with a reflective pool of water near the Reichstag.

Read the detailed information panels, look at the stones with the names of the awful camps, think about society’s modern day prejudice against gypsies and ‘the other’ and reflect.

It is a simple but powerful memorial. Take the time to visit and read the information by it. It is near the Brandenburg Gate.

This is a very touching memorial, one that is placed in the park between the Reichstag and Brandenburg gate. The way it is positioned, makes you walk around and reflect on what has happened. The stories on the wall, the reflective pond and peaceful location...More
