As a tourist this is just nice to thing a wall through. A lot of activities going here. Offering leisure to the neighbourhood. They used an old factory as a basis for dance courses, literature readings, and so on.

Read in various places about 80s/90s music nights - tried to get in on a Saturday night - along with a lot of Berlin under-25 scene. Lots of broken glass around, huge rowdy queues, under 25s behaving no worse than anywhere else but not enjoyable for us hitting 40. Stood near doors listing to music - it's 90s 'club' music... More

Interesting, and a bit better than the other smaller DDR museum by the river. Shows life in DDR before the fall of the wall.

Nordic Christmas market in a relaxed atmosphere. Best Glühwein so far and lots of nordic specialities to try. Loved the traditional set up. Worth a visit.

This is a pretty cool local venue for a variety of things. I recommend going here on Sunday for the food truck festival. There were lots of options. It also looked very popular for going out at night.

Can't here on a locals recommendation for a night out. Good choice of bars and clubs and there's a variety of music at each to cater for any taste. Ended up at Soda club which had a young crowd and cheesy pop but was great fun!

Very informative & interesting Bike Tour through the streets of Berlin (coming from a 17 year old). The whole tour takes about 3.5h. Very friendly & motivated guides. Would definetley do it again (different route theough Berlin obviously).

Thank Niels B

Staying in Prenzlauer Berg

Neighbourhood Profile
Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall, there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays, thousands turn the park next to remnants of the wall into a playground for street artists, musicians, and flea market shoppers. This attracts young urban families who enjoy the balance of big city life and small-town comfort. Meanwhile, trendy, young, upper-class visitors from all over the world are attracted to the local high-end shops, cafés, and sophisticated bars and restaurants. The merits of this transformation are a favorite topic of debate around the city, but it makes for some of the best people-watching Berlin has to offer.
