My hubby and I became lost, looking for our hotel...this occurred frequently, and what a surprise awaited us. I will post photos. Two young Jewish men just finished their exams at the school next door and kindly explained a monument sign that was only in...More

just off the busy street, down a side road - a simple yet powerful holocaust memorial - also the now empty (except a couple of grave stones) burial gound.

It is hard to describe this place. Could you pass it by and/or miss it's signifiance? Prepare for your visit. Read up on what it is you are going to go and visit. Better if you have a guide, or can stand within earshot of...More

In the midst of busy streets you find this quiet place, with only one gravestone left, and a small memorial. For me it was many times more impressive than the big Holocaust Monument

Stumbled upon this somber Jewish cemetery where Moses Mendelssohn is buried. It's a place of quiet solitude. There is some signage in several languages dictating the history, including the destruction by the national socialists in 1943. A reminder of the rich Jewish history in Berlin.

This monument is located in the Jewish Cemetery that was destroyed by the Nazi's. The sadness on their faces and the very thin bodies of the memorial speak volumes. If you are in the area. Don't miss the small museum that is just across the...More

The Alter Jüdischer Friedhof is an old, well preserved Jewish spot of Berlin. It carries a sad history, but still nice if you like this kind of attractions.

This cemetery dates back to the 1600s and many important Jewish citizens of Berlin, including Moses Mendelssohn, were buried here. The Nazis destroyed the cemetery and used many gravestones to line their latrines and sewage conduits. Some old gravestones were rescued after the war, and...More

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given
