We were blown away by the sheer scale of this Russian War Memorial. The stone carvings leading up to the statue told the story of the Russian Campaign and framed the conquering Russian carrying a child from the ruins of Berlin. Well worth a visit....More

Berlin has plenty of tall and grand buildings that inspire but this place will hold a special memory for us - it is beautifully designed and inspiring

This monument to Soviet soldiers is pompous, statue is huge! Big as Soviet Union itself :) Park is easily reached, maybe 15 minutes walk from nearest S-Bahn station. Place is free to visit.

A few months after moving to Berlin, I finally visited the park, it was really nice. I am not into memorials but I did like the park and enjoyed walking around it.

My nephew, who has lived in both Russia and Berlin, begged us to go see the Soviet War Memorial during our fall visit to Berlin. I am really glad we made the effort. It's a couple of subway rides away from the main action, but...More

7000 Soviet soldiers who died during the liberation of Berlin at the end of WWII lie buried here. The monument is huge and impressive.
