No restroom capacity for ladies. Not enough capacity to drop off jackets. Bad taste DJ. Worst club I ever visited in Berlin.

we've been there in a night with a balkan music party. A lot of nice people around, excellent music, fun dance etc. We loved it.

Very chill staff, relaxed atmosphere, everyone is there to have fun. Cozy place, people smoke inside. They have good theme nights

A great little venue in the midst of a cool area with lots of bars and restaurants around it - we saw the Charlatans here in front of about 500 people (compared to 2,500 in Manchester eaarlier this year) and it was excellent. It's a small narrow venue with a low roof so creates a great atmosphere and you can... More

Went to SO 36 as my friend worked at the till one night. Owner was lovely Turkish/German lady and welcomed me in and gave us free drinks. Pretty big and nice club you got there. I was very impressed when I visited this location in Berlin. The program is really excelent: concerts, discos with different character, mixed public, cultural and political activities, etc. Entry price is alright, cheaper than in commercial locations.

I was here last week and was incredibly disappointed. For a venue with such rich heritage I was expecting a little bit more than somewhere with poor sound, bad lighting and disorganised bar staff. The most frustrating thing was the "90s Night" was advertised as a gay night. Well, from what I could see we were the only gay people... More

Staying in Kreuzberg

Neighbourhood Profile
Berlin's revolutionary heart and immigrant roots can both be found in Kreuzberg, but this central neighbourhood is beginning a new chapter. In the 1950s and '60s, Turkish guest workers settled around Kottbusser Tor, while in the 1980s and '90s, rambunctious squatters and artists gathered to live a carefree life here. An old hospital even became a hotspot of riots between squatters and police. Today you can still find the best kebabs in town and many underground clubs, but a lot has changed as well. The hospital has been transformed into an art center, and increasingly you will find new urban cafés, restaurants and designer shops. Rising housing prices and gentrification threaten the spirit of this area along the Spree River, but the neighbourhood’s legacy is upheld by a very engaged community fighting to preserve its rebellious identity.
