We went all in with Insider Berlin and took the Famous Walk the first day with Phil, then the Museum tour with John (JJ) next and finished the the Third Reich Tour with Barnaby our final day in Berlin. We have used Sandeman's free tours before, and while not dissatisfied with them, we felt these tours were notch up and... More

The Sachsenhausen concentration camp is by far one of the most profound and worthwhile tours I have ever taken. It would be wrong to that say that I "enjoyed" it, as the subject matter is something that cannot possibly be enjoyed. I did however savor every moment of it, and the effect that is has upon you will last long... More

Walid and Taylor made these walking tours come to life and took us to places you would never see on a hop on hop off bus tour. Their knowledge and insight was invaluable and taking these two walking tours during our four days in Berlin gave us an unforgettable experience for our first visit to this amazing city.

FABULOUS! We took the four hour INSIDER Famous Places Berlin walk with Brian Bell. Brian was simply terrific. We learned so much about Berlin History thanks to Brian's entertaining and very funny presentation. We learned while we laughed. Granted, Berlin history is not always humorous therefore the presentation was appropriate depending on the subject matter. I would recommend this tour... More

English Walking Tour of Potsdam led by Londoner Guide Michael was entertaining from the word go. He has a disarming charm and modesty which is an endearing quality and comes across as the quintessential Englishman. He was full of knowledge which he interspersed with fascinating anecdotes. An interesting raconteur, he possesses a strong voice which he is able to project... More

We did the Famous Walk the first day we were in Berlin, and it was the best thing we did our entire trip. It gave us a context for the different sights in Berlin which allowed us to really enjoy further sightseeing on later days. Maria led our English tour, and she was funny, very knowledgeable, and enjoyable to listen... More

We wanted an overview of the city so that we were then able to decide where best to spend the rest of our free time while in Berlin. Walid was extremely informative. He mixed this with wit and had us laughing often. The tour took nearly five hours but didn't leave us feeling tired. Walid even spent further time with... More

We do the Famous Walk Tour with Nikolai and it was very great! We are not english speaker but we do understand everything because the guide was very understandable! The tour was complete but quite long but for the price it worth it so much! For our first visit in Berlin it was the best guided tour!

I just spent a fascinating week in Berlin. For each of seven consecutive days I did a walking tour of the city, each with a different theme. Each of the tour guides was very well informed, friendly and in possession of strong communication skill. It was clear that each of them really loved Berlin. Thanks to Barnaby, Nickoli, Jared, Phil,... More

What fantastic value and what a great way to get a good understanding of Berlins history and see its best sights. Jamie was excellent throughout and balanced personal view, charm, humour and knowledge very very well throughout. All this was done with a great level of detail shared about the sights and with somehow managing to manage 22 people very... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
