Good selection of beers, hipster style (unfortunately we didn't manage to catch one of the -so called- famous jazz events) BUT the service....very very bad....Too rude for that area, and Berlin in general...

Relaxed with blues, beer and gin&tonic with my boyfriend on our first night in Berlin. Free entry & great venue in the cellar as well as upstairs. Friendly staff with good English. Music was simple & pleasant on the ear. Would return.

Simple. Low key. A but shabby old school. Not fake friendly but very accepting and easy going. We just drank so can't comment on the food. If we lived in the area it would be out local.

We visited Zosch three nights in a row while in Berlin in and found out that it's an excellent dive bar, and a good place to hang out while eating and drinking. Marius and Martin ensured that the glasses stayed full and that the conversation lively. Was pleasantly surprised to find out that they serve a very good American style... More

Visited here after dark for a few beers. As two females traveling together we felt welcomed, relaxed and at ease. Downstairs was a live music room where people smoked. We stayed upstairs and ate nachos which were cheap and tasty. Cheap, chearful and down to earth bar.

Went to the bar on recommendation and must say it is stereotypical old Europe for me. The bar area is very basic, with couches through the back and downstairs you'll find a table football game and a pinball machine. The beer we had was well poured and tasted really good in comparison to some of the other draught beer we... More

We came across this bar by accident when walking up the back streets in Oranienburg but it was a great little bar with very old fashioned decor and felt like we were in an authentic Berlin nightspot. I wish we came across it sooner as we would have spent more time here

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
