It was VERY cold, snow on the ground, and we were a relatively small group. The cycling is easy as there are no hills, and German motorists respect cyclists. Our guide Brett was great, and we saw all the main sights to see in Berlin. Do this early on your break and re-visit any places you want to spend a... More

Took this tour in July 2016, it was a great way to get around and see the sights! Had so much fun! It hits the most popular places to see, it's easy to operate the Segway and the guides are friendly and informative! Loved it!

I reviewed this earlier with a two-star review. The tour was uninspiring in comparison to other tours given in Berlin. After being contacted by the company, we received a full refund, a gift voucher for a similar tour in Berin or Munich and a promise (with evidence) to improve. My star rating reflects the customer service more than the tour... More

Hi Owen, Thanks for posting this revised review. It was a pleasure emailing with you further about your experience. While I deeply regret you didn't have the experience on the tour with us that we strive to deliver, I'm glad we were able to refund your tour and improve based on your feedback. We hope to see you again in... More

We did the afternoon/evening tour in August 2016. It was great fun. Saw all the major sites (Checkpoint Charlie, the Wall, a guard tower that is still standing, etc) and had a great dinner in a Beer Garden in the Park. It was a great way to spend the evening and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Easily booked our Classic Segway tour in Berlin online. Three of us had a great tour with Kieran, he was good fun, but definitely professional and friendly. He showed us how to use the segways, even though we were a bit nervous. He knew all about the history of Berlin, and brought much of it to life. If I'm honest,... More

We had an excellent guide, Tall Tom, who was knowledgeable and friendly. The bikes were easy to ride and the terrain was suited for a beginner. The tour included short rides and stops with talks given by Tom. The lunch spot was also great.

We were fortunate to have the Fat Tire bike tour recommended to us by friends who had previously visited Berlin. They said it was the highlight of their stay - and it was for ours as well. Claudia's knowledge of the history and details of the city, laced with her humor and wit, made the day very enjoyable. She was... More

We booked this because we were planning on doing a Segway Tour in Prague but with the impending ban (that apparently was already in force but tour companies were still doing tours) we decided to go in Berlin instead... what a great decision that turned out to be! We had a blast! Our tour guide was friendly, spoke perfect English... More

I'm a huge fan of going on a Tour. It's the best way to see a city and get the most in to your stay in the shortest amount of time. We went on the bike tour and glad we did instead of the Segway at it was freezing so it helped keep us warm! They offer free gloves too... More

Staying in Mitte

Neighbourhood Profile
Mitte
The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum Island. The central location makes this one of the city's most expensive places to live. It is here the oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence of some significant transformations, as well. The gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given way to an international crowd pursuing fashionable designer clothes, the newest food trends and frequenting the many craft shops. Graphic designers have taken up residence in what used to be backyard barns and stables. There are still vestiges of the old days, however. The occasional housing complex is a reminder of the neighbourhood’s past. And if you look carefully, an old 1920s ball house nestled amongst the art galleries and exhibitions of Auguststrasse can still teach you how to dance the old fashioned way.
