About
There is a place in Schaperstrasse in Wilmersdorf, a little hidden from view, where the glamour of 1920s Berlin with its love of nightlife has found a home again for almost twenty years. Bohéme Sauvage in the BAR JEDER VERNUNFT, a Spiegeltent – from outside unimposing, but on the inside a glittering ball room – where the intimate location is reflected in the countless smaller and larger mirrors which transform it into a boundless, magical world in which anything seems possible! The Spiegeltent is the stage for the créme de la créme of intelligent cabaret acts ranging from chanson to comedy.

Wish I could speak German!
Sep 2019
We stumbled upon this venue by accident while exploring Berlin. Fascinating entertainment establishment serving pretty good wine (we did not eat) and what must have been a great show.

Inside the building the room is decorated as a large, round tent. Seating is available at booths around the perimeter of the room and small tables in front of the stage.
We had a small table stage-side which gave us a great view of the performer; Sven Ratzke. Apparently this is a cabaret style club and Sven was very entertaining (if all the laughter from the audience is any indication). We enjoyed him although we could not understand a thing he said. His show seemed to be a mix of satire, comedy, and romantic ballads.

As a visitor from the US this style of entertainment is a bit different, and very enjoyable. Whether you speak German or not I would recommend going as an 'authentic' Berlin experience. Get away from the tourist traps and try something different.

Lovely venue, but oh so hot
Dec 2017 • Friends
It was December outside but inside the beautiful 'tent' the temperature was tropical. We had booked the meal option with champagne which was delicious and our waiter was funny, courteous and super efficient. The opera performers sounded wonderful and the show wasn't overly long but sadly, despite being billed as accessible to all, our very limited german meant we didn't really know what the show was all about. But we still enjoyed it.

An evening to remember
Oct 2017
The evening was just perfect: A gifted performer as Tim Fischer is always a wonderful experience to listen to. The atmosphere in the Bar jeder Vernunft is cosy, the service at the counter and for the dinner is attentive and friendly.

beautiful stage combined with bar and restaurant

Such a wonderful location. When you get near you would not guess what to find inside. The cosy and colourful "mirror tent" is installed on a parking lot hidden in the backyard of the University of Arts. I was here hearing Tim Fischer with his moving program "ABSOLUT!". What a nice evenig!

Wonderful venue for a special show
Dec 2016 • Family
Visiting the place early in December, i was curious how it is on a windy and rainy evening. It was worth to booking the place in advance and taking out the menu pre-booking. As such we had a great seat. It looked quite packed in the tent and some may find the seats a bit small.
The show was Muttis Kinder - an a capella group - and their tunes were fantastic, well known songs aw well as own compositions.

Excellent place
Sep 2016
high quality food and top notch ambiance. The "tent" was made more than 100 years ago in the Netherlands, and as per words of the owner has more than 10000 mirrors as a decoraction on the walls. The place is really intimate and help you feel immersed in the beginning of 20th century. The food and wine.... my english vocabulary is not good enough to describe the fflawours and taste of the food. Fabulous. Wine selection was also pretty wide!
And the live music was top notch too!!!

Highly recommend it!

poor German version of the french comedy la "cage aux folles*
Dec 2015 • Couples
The show was disappointing because the main roles, "Zaza" and "Georges" (in the french original play "Renato") were really not up what I expected. I felt that "Zaza" did not grasp the tragical-comical overtone of his/her personality and gave it a too serious dimension in the way he performed. "Georges" looked bored and in a routine performance. The show was "saved" by the supporting roles, especially, "Jacob" the butler. The 4 "showgirls" were able to keep things jumping throughout the whole evening. Avoid booking a seat in the "loges" because you have a series of pillars in front of you which sometimes hinder the view on the stage.

Left at the interval
Jul 2015 • Couples
The tent was absolutely packed, they had crammed far too many people in for it to be comfortable or pleasant.
Gaby Decker was a disappointment.
Don't waste your time.
We left at the interval as we couldn't face another hour of it.

A really splended evening

We went to see Etta Scollo and her extraordinary cello accomplist Susanne Paul, which merits another 5 star review...

The atmosphere on a hot summer evening (day time temperatures were in the 30s) was just perfect. The venue is not too small and not too large. The waiters are as attentitive as you wish them to be. The food was good (although we only had snacks) as were the drinks. A great Berlin experience, elevated by an unusual 'pot-pourri' of Sicilian musical entertainment.

Distillation of Berlin!
Nov 2014 • Friends
A great performance venue. Laid out Cabaret club style where you can dine and drink and watch the show. I saw an excellent production of La Cage aux Folles there. A talented and energetic cast! Production tailored perfectly to the venue! Not the cheapest way to dine but a fun treat from time to time!
