A Lovely Park
Sep 2020
Park Babelsberg is one of the most beautiful parks I know and it is a must-visit when you're coming to Potsdam. I came here multiple times already and looking forward to come back again.
Back in the days it was build as a summer residence for the first emperor of Germany and it's still well preserved, because many green-keepers keeping it clean day for day. There are old traditional buildings all over the park and you have big green meadows where you can relax, do sports or go for a walk with your dog.
It's not as crowded as many other parks, especially like in Berlin where I come from and in the summertime a small lido opens at the Havel. I love the landscape with its hills and the lake and if you have a day off you should visit Park Babelsberg.
It is easy to reach and just 10-15 minutes by feet from train station Babelsberg.

Quiet Alternative
Aug 2020
Park Babelsberg is a quiet alternative to Park Sanssouci. There are much less busloads of tourists and the parc itself is beautiful

My favorite picknick spot

Please don't tell anyone about this place and keep the tourist at the Sansoucci Park... Meanwhile, I'll be relaxing on a lawn in front of a castle with a splendid view of the Havel River and the Glienicke Bridge ;) Fantastic place to lose track of time while reading a book or just daydreaming.

I think this was a huge highlight of our visit to Potsdam.
Walked from the bus stop into one of the nicest parks I have been in.
Beautifully kept, fantastic views across the river and beyond, some incredibly stunning buildings including Babelsberg castle
Had the best latte macchiato in the most wonderful cafe overlooking the park and lake
Service was impeccable
Don’t miss this if you come to Potsdam
A little gem

Delightful strolls, beautiful views and a surprising castle moat at the tower!
Oct 2019
Park Babelsberg is full of interesting strolling destinations - from almost everywhere there is a gorgeous view of the inland lakes and rivers that surround the park. I have walked the park and biked the park and both modes are highly recommended. With a bike you can see more of the park in a day and there are many destinations including the Schloss, the Tower, the castle gardens! If walking, you can stroll along the pathways and everywhere find comfortable seating to take in a calm pond with ducks, a view of Potsdam city, feel the soft breeze in the trees around you.

Lovely scenery, walking/cycling area, access to the lake and fantastic views
Aug 2019
The whole park has lovely scenery, including a newly renovated schloss, plenty of walking/cycling paths, cafe and a restaurant, some interesting older buildings, with their own history, access to the lake and fantastic views, especially of Glienicke Brücke.

Charming scenery

What a lovely park to be in. Lots to see, especially if you like scenery. Beautiful greenery, castles, hills and lake shore.

You can also see the famous Glienicker Bridge and the Havel Lake from here.

Nice place for a lazy day

We were in really hot September, 2018. however in the shades of trees it was good. You might sit at the water, looking at the cruises, of bathe here with locals. Historical part is mainly shown in German, so it is good idea to have Internet (WiFi available in few places) or to prepare in advance.
