The models of ships gets a little boring. The museum floors are organised by themes like trade, military, exploration, awards, underwater animals etc. It might have been better organised by time. Anyway in most themes there are mostly model ships. It gets a little boring.

This is an excellent museum with many informative and interesting exhibits. Your ticket is for a whole day, and because it is a very large museum I suggest you plan on having a break for lunch and resuming your visit. We particularly enjoyed the ninth...More

We had seen the reviews on here so thought we would give it a go. There’s floors and floors of exhibits, however, and I really don’t want to be this person who seems ungrateful, but all of the information regarding the exhibits were in German,...More

The 7:30 a.m. ICE train whisked us from Berlin to Hamburg in two hours, in time to get us to our first stop shortly after opening. Housed in a repurposed canal-side brick warehouse in Hamburg’s harbor district, the International Maritime Museum exceeded our expectations, which...More

It’s a really big place and quite a few floors to go through. It was interesting to see though and the price reasonable. Also, it near some good places to eat and there’s a shop downstairs for souvenirs.

A dull day for us again, but this place was not on our list to explore. However the area has some wonderful buildings and gives a feel for the warehouse area is like.

This is a nice place and located in the old part of the port of Hamburg. The building is beautiful and there are displays that greet you on the outside. A good place and in a fabulous part of town.
