There was a church service on so I couldn't visit the church, but I went up the tower and it is well worth the 5 euros. Great view of the whole of Hamburg and there is a lift if you don't fancy the stairs!

A lovely church with amazing views from the top. Worth it to get your bearings. I took the stairs up, which is slightly tiring! Get the lift back down!

Somehow, the rules for visitors are too strict. We were invited to go inside, since it was too cold, but then we could not even drink water. And one of the reasons we went inside was to escape for a bit from the cold and windy weather, so we were thirsty...

Every single aspect of this church is simply amazing. Its architecture, the history, interior and, most importantly, the tower. The view itself is quite nice but more engaging is the fact that such complex and advanced construction took place in 18th century. If you are fit enough to take the stairs up there are small exhibitions on each floor, including... More

The inside of the church is unic and worth the glance but of course the best part is to go up the tower to enjoy the view on Hamburg.

This is the nicest church in Hamburg. Even for non-believers it is worth visiting. Typical interior as in many northern European churches. The cryptanalysis is interesting. Consider seeing the tower. Walk up the car. 460 steps or take the elevator. Great views, but may be windy. See also the very nearby "Krameramtsstuben".

From its tower, you can have a view of the entire Hamburg. I think it's the tallest building in Hamburg with over a 100-metre tall tower.

Never baroque architecture was more elegant and, if I may say so in this context, sexy than in the curves of this 17th century masterpiece of Georg Sonnin. Also the tower is worth the 5 Euros (or 4 with Hamburg Card) anytime. There is a lift and the view is awesome.

The view from the tower is amazing and the interior of the church itself is stunning. The stairs to the top are arduous, but there is a lift. It is well worth going up though, especially if the weather is clear.
