Located at the Fischmarkt it was a 20 minute walk from our hotel. 9 euros to get in and an additional 4 euros to join a guided tour. We were lucky and the only people on the tour. A very interesting guide through the sub....More

Interesting. It's very cramped, and unless you are German speaking, you are let loose on your own. Which is a pity, as it would be nice to have a little understanding of what exactly you are looking at. There is an overpowering smell of diesel...More

We visited the U-boot and its museum and went inside the submarine. We didn’t take part in the tour - which are all only in German as it goes - and were in and out in approximately twenty minutes. The Soviet submarine is narrow and...More

A interesting tour to find out what is was like going to war in a U Boat, great tour but not for the claustrophobic or unfit (several circular hatches to climb through), would recommend has a item to tick off your bucket list

A Russian submarine (i.e. not a German U-boot) which you enter at the bows and work your way through to leave at the stern. This allows you to feel just how cramped for the crew to work and live and also to sense how hot...More

Hard to imagine that the Russian went to sea with this boat. I was shocked by the interior. Small, low and old fashioned. This is a boat from the 70ties. Compare to WWII boats of Germany.

A quick visit with my 5 year old son. To be fair this is just a submarine which you can walk through and get an idea of life on board must be like. There is a small but well stocked gift shop as well. For...More

Not ancient history but very interesting to see inside a sub and the very cramp conditions, can't believe there was up to 84 crew. The tour itself is nothing spectacular and not suitable for those who are the slightest claustrophobic, tall or prepared to crawl...More

Expecting to see a second world war German U boat, it was quite a surprise and novelty to find the U-434 was a Soviet vessel. The cost of 9 Euro is a little pricey but as we hadn't seen a Soviet vessel before, decided to...More

I was disappointed to learn this was a Russian built modern sub. I expected a WW II u boat or museum of pictures and facts. It is very tight and hard to navigate through the many hatches you must proceed through. It is not worth...More

I don't know for a fact that it will be open in December but I would assume so. Kids of 10 and 13 will be ok but may need some help climbing through the hatches !
