I found this street accidentally, and we decided to have a look! Such nice views at the sunset! Some of the buildings are really old.

The houses are nice, the whole area is nice. You can really find nice restaurants and Cafés there. But it's pricy, because it's a touristificated spot. But you should go there.

All the area lookeed like this before... and then came a major fire. One resturant is named "Zum Brandanfang" (where the fire started). Try to find the small corridors between some houses, they get you to the canal on the baclside. from there y<ou have a nice view. Kartoffelkeller is another restaurant I can recommend.

The oldest street in Hamburg little. Cobbled street few shops cafes bars coffee shops leading to the river! Take a walk by the river until you come to jetty number 10 have a fish roll ! Recommend to us by the local people! That's why it's mega mega busy 🍷🎄🍺🍻🐡🐟🐠🦀

The overall look here, especially the look of the houses, reminded me of Amsterdam. Lovely area, cozy and less busy than the harbor region.

Large parts of the 'old' harbor city is rebuilt after the war, but there are few remnants remain of the original Hamburg that was part of the Hanseatic city that grew up during the Middle Ages. Precisely these blocks, however, a little sense of how it looked in larger parts of the city, and before the great fire in 1842... More

Old and colored buildings are candy for eyes and soul. It's really nice to see an environment survived from WW II. There is also nice resto & cafes around.

An interesting part of Hamburg. This old established neighbourhood (dating back to 1400's?) fortunately survived the horrors of WW II. Today it is a collection of restaurants and a place to enjoy people watching. If the buildings were painted various colours one would think it was a section of Copenhagen. The buildings are interesting and worth a look if in... More

Seeing the Deichstraße in Hamburg on pictures, it actually looks super nice and it is, indeed. however, its really only a small part that has these nice old buildings, so it was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless, on the other side are a few nice restaurants. We had not time to sit in there but they looked nice and not that... More

We ate at a small Fish restaurant and the food was excellent. A true one-man operation. takes awhile to get the food, but the portions are adequate and he has take out.
