A feeling of engineering upon entering. Although did not feel the need to walk it all the way through, still impressive to visit.

It’s under construction and it’s just a simple tunnel. Good for short walk to the other side (but there isn’t much to see).

Having seen this tunnel in the Odessa file I was intrigued by the car lift. No entry fee so that's a Plus. I enjoyed the walk under the Elbe . Traffic is mostly bicycles these days.

The old tunnel is well worth a walk. It takes you from one side of Hamburg to another and upon arrival on the other side you get to see an interesting view of Hamburg. If you’re not so good on foot it’s not for you...More

Maybe the only tunnel from this period still open and used. The facility is impressive and the decoration matches the period of construction. Good visit also if you have children and the view on Hamburg from the other side is really nice !

A vintage tunnel for anyone to amble beneath the Elbe. There is a spiral staircase to get up/down or you can take the old mechanical lift. very popular for such an attraction, after all its just a tunnel.

Definitely worth a visit to see this 100+ year old structure. We took the lift down and walked the short 400 or so yards under the Elbe and back.

We had the chance to visit it during Hamburg's cruise days in September. The whole tunnel was lighted in blue. We spent quite some time here as time seems to flow slower. It really had an appeasing flair.
