This is a fun place to visit if you are in a group! The food is very rural (old classic German country stile) and you can order a Craig of beer (10 l) to the table. The beer is excellent and we ordered for our party Gröninger Brauerschmaus, which a feast of pork meet - with well hidden potatoes and... More

This authentic cellar, that brews its own beer, is a must if you are at least with 6 or more persons and want to get a nice evening out in the town, sampling the unique German way of having fun. Key ingredients are a keg of 100 (something) liter beer, opened the old fashioned way with hammer and a wooden... More

This felt like a typical German pub with a lovely atmosphere. You could order the big 1l steins or if there was a large group you could order a 10l keg for your table! The food was buffet style but it worked out super cheap because you paid for the weight of your meal. Would definitely recommend for any brits... More

The cellar is an extense chain of linked spaces. Although the venue is fairly large it maintains the charm and comfort of a small place. I was very impressed by the delicious roasint smell that permeates the entire venue. The ham hock and pork loin are extraordinary. The crisp roasted outer "shell" of the ham was incredible.

We were a group of 20 or so revelers after a long day of road trip and meetings, looking forward to a very traditional German beer pub experience. At both the food and drinks level, Groninger did not disappoint. The meat platter portions were huge! It had, 2 types if sausages, very crispy pork belly, maybe pork shoulder slices and... More

We went with a group of business relation. No white covered table dining. The basement has a cosy - gemuetliche - atmosphere and the friendly personel suits the situation. Large portions of meat (or fish) are put on the table for sharing. Ofcourse the inevitable barrel (10lit) of beer can be shared too.

Half decent beer, but nothing to travel for. Food is ordered from the front and is a buffet, not cooked to order. Passable and quite cheap. Place is very lively, though. Not a destination for food or beer afficionados, but a good place to eat and drink with friends.

We recently visited as a large group and were looking forward to the buffet. When we got it the meats were very salty, fatty and greasy. Potatoes seemed like they had been left there for a long time and the highlight was the salad. We had the keg of beer but it wasn't the greatest. Seems like a good gimmick... More

We ate here as part of our business trip. Having eaten here before I had high expectations for the place. I was impressed again! Fantastic authentic German food with fabulous beer! The decor is perfect for the area and location. You must make time to eat here!
