At the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt am Main, a really impressive artist is on show and his exhibition is unmissable: Jean-Michel Basquiat and his "Boom for Real". The gallery is in the heart of Frankfurt, at Römerberg, a lovely square lined with old and picturesque...More

Schirn Kunsthalle is strategically located near the Romerberg off to the east side. The building itself is not notable, but the Basquiat exhibition was a chance to know the artist's life with film, photos, drawings, paintings, and objects. Buy your ticket online for 12 Euro...More

I saw a decent exhibition on art in the Weimar Republic. It was crowded though so lots of human Tetris familiar to London commuters. There was a multimedia guide but inexcusably it was only in German. Very disappointed.

Although I know nothing about art of the Weimarer Republik I really loved the "Glanz & Elend" (glitter and sorrow) exposition. It turned out that I did know about the themes of this expo from literature and even "Cabaret" the musical. So, buy a ticket...More

I visited Frankfurt twice in the last six years. The special exhibitions in both cases were great (Moholy-Nagy´s photos and Dioramas). Be alert of Schirn offer if you visit Frankfurt.

The Schirn is one of Frankfurts many Art Galleries that have put the city on the Arts map of Europe. Housed in a dedicated modernist museum it is always a joy to visit. The calender of events and shows is always exciting and becomes very...More

We spent few hours to see the 2 sections of this art museum. One section was for the work of Peter Saul; which actually did not match our taste. The second section was about the theme of "Peace" and included posters, audiovisuals, etc. There are...More
