As a lover of live performance, I was keen to experience this art form at the highest level. Good tickets in the stalls were less than £40 per person, the most expensive less than twice that amount. The quality of the performance was out of...More

The Oper Frankfurt has always been innovative and controversial. The productions are always interesting. You can count on the music being well sung. Many of the world's best singers got their start in Frankfurt. The opera orchestra and chorus are some of the finest in...More

The Frankfurt Opera is one of the best opera houses of the world. The productions are very high class and can be compared to MET's productions. A lot of singers and directors who are now working for the MET have been working for the Frankfurt...More

I saw "Martha" by von Flotow here. Although the opera was once very popular, it is not performed often now so it was great to finally see it. The production was very well done and made for amusing theater with a lot of tongue-in-cheek comedy....More

Although the performance seemed enjoyable, we were very negatively surprised by the absence of subtitles, although the tickets stated otherwise. As an answer to our complaints, the theater has claimed that it was a "printing mistake", which we find rather unprofessional for an opera house...More

The quality of the ensemble was superb. We watched Wozzek, which is quite difficult to perform, especially for the orchestra, but they truly did a great job. The theater is ok, acoustics are not the best I've ever experienced. There are some spots especially on...More

A really modern building just conveniently located in the central business district right across a tram line. However, it's very open and spacious. Very modern building and also 15 walk from frankfurt Hauptbahnhof.

I understand that tomorrow Oct. 22. there will be a Concert in Frankfurt featuring a segment of Richard Wagner's Walkuere.. Could you please inform me what other orchestral piece will be on the program. My sister, living in Oberursel will go to this concert. I usually give her some idea about the music being played so she may have a better understanding of it. Thanks for any answer. Gerhard Lewin in Salem,Oregon

As I was a visitor to Frankfurt till the end of July, I am sorry I am not in a position to throw any light on the subject and also paucity of time to gather and disseminate, the same.
