We couldn't go inside the castle, but we went around visiting the gardens. The Castle is impressive from outside. The weather was foggy and gave a dramatic atmosphere to the visit

Large and beautiful castle. The view is impressive! If I am bird the view from above would be even more grand! The spring and summer would be even better view.

We arrived in Schwerin to view the famous castle in the middle of a snow/wind storm. Not deterred by it all we got a taxi to the castle. It did not disappoint. The style of the castle is different from the type you typically associate...More

This is the number one attraction in Schwerin (there is not much more than this either). A beautiful castle, perfect for a walk around it (1-2 hours). We did not visit it from inside. The most interesting thing with the castle is that it is...More

This was my third time in the castle - and every time I enjoy it. A lot has happened since my first visit in 1990, when it was still marked by the communistic era. Great to see it today and learn how important Schwerin was...More

A beautiful castle set in the middle of a lake. A great garden surrounding it adds to its beauty. It is rightly nicknamed "Neuschwanstein of the North".

It wasn't raining this morning, and we had a beautiful walk in the Schloss Garden before heading to the Schloss museum. The museum is currently undergoing some renovations, and only the first 2 levels were open to the public.

A lovley castle. The rooms on show all have fantastic parquet flooring, interesting furniture and superb wall coverings. A most enjoyable tour.

I booked an excursion with the Celebrity cruise ship during our port stop at Warnemunde. My suggestion is to take a bus tour around the city & a visit to the Schwerin castle if you don't want the long hours to Berlin.

While Mitte is a closer station be sure that your train stops there. Most inter city trains will be stopping at the main station.

You can also try bus services (ex: Flixbus) it costs only 5 Euro. The castle is walking distance from Schwerin HBF.
