Worth the walk!

Decided to come here after exploring Aachen. Getting there took some work since we didn't have a car; we took #25 bus to Vaals, then walked up the path from town. If there were... read more

It's a nice place with a big playground, a maze for kids and adults, a Cafe and nice wander paths. Definitly recommend this if you never where around here and look for a good view and a nice walk . If it's a cold day tho definitly take a hat a scarf with you, its pretty windy up there, and... More

Decided to come here after exploring Aachen. Getting there took some work since we didn't have a car; we took #25 bus to Vaals, then walked up the path from town. If there were signs we didn't find them, had to use our phones to navigate. But well worth the 20 min walk uphill, the view is stunning. The cafe/restaurant... More

Aachen is not only a German town, but a thre country Border; you came from Belgium to Aachen, next frontier is Holland, Maastrich; The point of view of the three frontiers is in a forest and you can have a super view from a tower, to see three different lands and the plattform is transparent.

A very interesting experience; being able to hike to the border of German was exciting as well as being able to be in two countries at the same time (by outing each foot at a different side of the borders). The only downside is having to deal with tourist crowds, hindering the possibility of a good photo.

Any visit to Germany would not be complete without seeing this typical region of Germany known as Ruhr Gebiet. The is the heart of Industrial Germany and at the same time it is surrounded by lush countryside. It is easy to travel to any other part of Germany, North, South, East and West from this region.

A place where three European countries meet (Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands). Offers great vistas from the observation tower. Fantastic hiking trails leading through the area, many of which zigzag back and forth across the borders. There is plenty parking lots available and fast food. Accessible by car from Belgium (Gemmenich) and the Netherlands (Vaals)

Visited the Dreiländereck yesterday and it was a great experience. We walked all the way from Aachen train station to the Drei Länder Eck, it took about 1,5 hour to get there. We were with friends who know the way very well so it was not difficult but if you are going all by yourself, it is probably better to... More

How can you resist, being in three countries at the same time is a great photo opportunity! We parked (for free) at this site and paid the 3 Euro per person fee to climb the tower (you buy tokens in the restaurant at the bar.) The views are amazing and on a clear day you can see for miles. We... More
