Lovely german cathedral located in a cute square

Spent a few hours here with the kids, can eat on the square adjacent, right next to beethovens stature.

This church is right in the center of old town. Nice piece of architecture. Interior is tranquil. Worth a stroll.

This was another grand church, but I found it particularly lovely! I was there just around noon, and there was a small service going on in the choir area, but tourists were still allowed to wander quietly. There was no charge, which was nice, and not particularly "touristy" - no english guidebook. Nonetheless, a lovely way to spend a short... More

This church was a real hidden gem. Positioned next to the Saturday market there was a great deal of hustle and bustle outside, but inside there was the peace you would associate with a place of worship. Much of the iconography was beautiful though I coldly quite work out the indoor garden.

This is very nice church in centre of Bonn close to Beethoven statue, it has five towers. Lying in the open plaza on the east end of the basilica are large sculpted heads of the Roman martyrs Cassius and Florentius, the patron saints of Bonn.

It's old but amazing how people have been taking care of it. The two heads on the floor are interesting. On the left side of this church, I found the Beethoven walk and the relief of Bonn's history.

Somehow this beautiful church seems to fly under the radar when one considers the significant churches of Germany. It can hold its own against many of it more famous counterparts -- certainly worth a visit!

Way too many awesome churches in Europe. I could spend ages exploring all of them. Love the hugely details artwork inside. Free to enter as well. Some interesting sculptures out the front.

Even for a non-religious person like myself, I can still really appreciate the beauty of places like this. They're always good for a visit so one can learn about the history and cultural makeup of the city around them. I've often read how churches throughout Europe attract more tourism than congregation, and I don't doubt it a bit. This church... More

Some lovely stained glass windows, we were particularly drawn to the ones that were in Black & White. Lots to see but really felt like a place where we could sit and reflect for a long time, in addition to perusing the wonderful artworks.
