When I lived at Bonn (1998-2006), I purchased the annual card for the Botanic Garden. Every weekend I went by and took thousands of pictures with my camera. They have a tropical forest garden house. You find a huge variety of succulents there too. From...More

I made that mistake that I went wrong time and did´t get inside greenhouse and it was raining outside. And it was February so not that many plants growing outside.

I had a look through their greenhouse last week, which was a pleasant but not exciting way to spend some time. I couldn't recommend going out of your way to visit here, but if you are in the vicinity it is worth a quick look.

It's a rather small garden. The botanical gardens in Colgone are much nicer, larger, and they are free. Not that it costs so much here (3 euro per person, really not a big deal), but I probably expected a lot given that, unlike in other...More

This picturesque botanical garden lays near a historical barocco palace, which is used now as one of the Bonn university buildings. The trees and plants collection is astounding. It is strongly recommended to visit, when a gigantic titan arum flower starts blooming.

Unless you speak Latin or German that is. The flowers are nice but the trees are great, especially the American redwood and Sequoia The tropical garden was a treat as were the giant waterlilies.
