Really good museum and worth a visit. We visited this week and really surprised how most of the exhibits were in perfect condition.

Hadn't realised how many Roman artefacts had been found in and around Cologne. Some fabulous mosaics and Publicius' tomb but I was more interested to see so much Roman glass and pottery in tact.

Great learning opportunity about the Cologne history and how dramatically far back it goes. The display of mosaic flooring found when they were excavating for an air raid bunker is very cool.

Conveniently sited next to the Cathedral. Well laid out museum with some fabulous mosaic floors and an amazing collection of Roman glassware. Definitely not to be missed.

This museum makes us think about that old saying. It reminds us of how impressive the Roman Empire was. It is really worth visiting, it shows a nice range of pieces from past centuries, from daily objects to fine artworks.

There are fundamentally two types of museums, with either a focus on the physical artifacts, or a focus on the underlying history with the physical objects (and a heightened level of modern museum technology) supporting the story being told. This is very much the former,...More

The mosaic floors were just beautiful and amazing to see. There were many other artifacts but little information or signage. I would have rated this 5 stars but the staff was not helpful at all and they seemed really grumpy. It would have been nice...More

This museum shows how Roman empire was all over Europe, and the influence they had in the modern world of today. It shows how delicate they were in their art. The Dyonysus mosaic was created around 220AD, A must place to see in Cologne
