Beautiful House and Gardens. Had a brilliant tour inside the house with interesting guide. Cannot enter on your own to look around. Very worthwhile. We managed to get tram there which stops nearby and closer than train station.

Want to have a walk, a run, a launch, see a beautiful building and well engineered garden ? Just go there. I really enjoyed a complete afternoon there, under the sunshine. And if you are interested, check the events as this castle gets loads of visitors at specific dates (Special fireworks, or public Pic-Nic in white, as for example).

Part of the challenge seems to be finding the correct entrance to the various parts of this place! The main building is entry by guided tour only and we went on a German speaking tour as the English one was much, much later in the day. The guide was clearly informative and offered up with information in English to help... More

This 18th Century residence was built for a German Elector (like a Duke). The palace itself is extremely charming, much more on the inside than the out. English speaking tour is available on the weekends, and we took advantage. It was a GREAT decision as the inside of the palace cannot be visited without the tour. Many people were peeking... More

You can walk here. The park is very big, the most of the people is walking, do picnic, runing, and cycling. Good place for a little quiet and nature.

They want you to pay to look, but demand no photos. What exactly are they trying to protect? It's been photographed a million times (just search Google). The guide went so far as to point out the black orb CCTV saying that someone is always watching to make sure you don't photograph anything. You can't even photograph the garden out... More

A beautiful castle in a not less beautiful park along the Rhine river. The visit of the main building is instructive and it is fairly nice to access the various hidden levels of the house. There are two more museums in the wings that we didn't visit (natural history and gardens). Worth a short stop in the area.

A short S-Bahn ride to Benrath station and a quick walk to the Palace. The grounds are well maintained with lots of local runners and cyclists in the park. The entrance to Palace is only possible by joining a guided tour. There's only one English tour at around 1:15 pm but it's the same time as the Hidden rooms tour,... More

We spent 3 nights staying in Dusseldorf & decided to spend a few hours at Schloss Benrath. It was very easy to get there from Dusseldorf Railway Station & we paid 2.60 euros each for a single journey, catching the S6 train from platform 11! We arrived at Benrath Railway Station 15 minutes later & after a 5 minute walk... More
