Schifffahrtmuseum is one of the oldest shipping museums in Germany. The museum is situated inside Schlossturm, on the shore of the Rhine. It houses a lot of boat models, and other interesting artifacts - in connection with the shipping and the Rhine. I think, if...More

I wasn't expecting much from this little museum inside the last tower on the Rhine in Dusseldorf, but it turned out to be a nice and informative surprise! The exhibitions make great use of the limited space and even with other people inside. There's also...More

The museum is interesting but a bit scattered and it doesn't tell the story of the Rhein very well. I enjoyed it and I learned from it but there is much more potential.

The museum itself is very interesting. The view from the last floor is great, we can see all the river side. The coffee and cakes are delicious and cheap. The museum has a few simulators, we can experience driving a boat.

This is: A beautiful building A beautiful location A beautiful surrounding A beautiful content You can admire three of these without even entering the building. Should most defiantly be on the list of things to do in Düsseldorf.

Shipping is a big part of Dusseldorf history. It's well worth a look. It's an easy place to find as it's on the main promenade beside the Rhein.
