I would have rated this attraction 5 stars if it had English tours and English captions in the museum. As such, I only knew something about it from reading a book on the Krupp family of Essen by William Manchester called, 'The Arms of Krupp'. I suggested to the museum admin that their museum would be so much more interesting... More

The setting is magnificent, the surrounding parkland impressive and the Villa built on a monumental scale, but once you get inside, it's all rather unsatisfactory. The main villa is very sombre with dark wood panelling everywhere and an almost total lack of information on the sparsely furnished rooms - or even their use. There's no guide or even floor plan... Visited here in the summer. Very interesting and well maintained. Lots of artefact's and photographs to look at. To be honest would be better if you could have a tour guide who spoke English! Had to pretty much work it out ourselves. The family history was interesting and the house had some interesting guests during it's time form Hitler to... More

I took a friend from Bavaria there when I showed him the city and its surroundings. The Villa makes you feel like the Krupp's had just moved out. You can feel the history that surrounds you everywhere - literally. Take yourself sometime to see the exhibiton as well as the park that offers views of the Baldeneysee.

This was a huge home from the Krupp family. We had a guide. She spoke Dutch very good and was very informative.

From the outside, it doesn't look like much, compared to all of the fantastic old buildings in Germany. But, inside, the walls and floors and ceilings were amazing. The furniture was beautiful. The history behind the Krupp family was also interesting.

I visited this place with a friend. At first we took a stroll through the extensive park, which is quite hilly. Unfortunately there is no map available, which turned out not to be too much of a miss, as there are no particular spots to explore. Next we went into the buildings. The larger main building has several rooms to... More

A family history at its best and with its various time zones you are able to see the ability how the family lived and grow with the political challenges at the given time. The designing of the flow area as you enter the building shows a clear structure of the family tradition
