For any railway enthusiasts this railway should be on the top of the list to visit. It's one of the most interesting forms of transport and I recommend it when you first go to visit Wuppertal. This suspension railway is 8 miles long. Wonderful!

This is something interesting and in it’s own way very futuristic. Would not believe that it is build over 115 years ago. It also rides almost all the way above the river what makes it very smart use of space.

If you are in Wuppertal you should definitely have a ride on the railway. It is a novel transport system and it reminded me of being at a theme park. Plus you get some great views of the town.

The Schwebebahn has been running in Wuppertal for over 100 years. It now the first hanging train and even if you are in Wuppertal for day it is worth riding.

Wuppertal is one of these not large, not small towns that straddles hills on both sides, a water course, the Wupper, down the centre and an above road suspension mono rail that glides through this vista like something out of a futuristic movie like Metropolis....More

Regular. Locals use it as public transport. There's one very fancy wagon just for tourists. I think it's only running on weekends 3 times a day and needs booking in advance. The thing is shaky; even if they offered some... More
