This site was under scaffolding when we visited in late December, but we accepted that in order to preserve whilst exploring this is a necessary part of archeology. Due to the time of year, there went no tours operating, and the information on site is...More

We saw the Kaiserthermen or Imperial Baths and the wonderfully preserved caldarium or hot bath-house which date from the early 4th century. To the west was a domed tepidarium and frigidarium with five pools, a massage parlor and steam bath. It is thought that the...More

Since I love architecture and history I really enjoyed visiting this place. I definitely recommend to read something about this place first or get some guide who can tell you about the place because it's really interesting

While I admit that walking through the ruins was a unique experience, it was undermined by the renovations. There was scaffolding everywhere and it was difficult to understand what the baths may have looked like holistically. If you purchase the pass that allows you to...More

I will say that it was interesting walking around and under the roman bath ruins. There is very historical information or explanation on what you are looking at. The staff member that greeted us was less than helpful and not all that nice. She explained...More

This could have been a great spot if it wasn't so much concealed by construction activity. Any time you can see roman ruins outside of Italy is truly fun, but

After learning a bit about one of the favorite romances of the Romans, you can continue to learn about more recreation and, in fact, an inseparable part of Roman life - bathing in bathhouses. The imperial bathhouses in Trier are among the largest and most...More

This site is one of the largest and best preserved in Europe. We toured with a knowledgeable local guide, which made the experience much richer. To walk through the sewer pipes and see first hand the Roman engineering skills was extremely interesting.

Addendum. Mildly interested visitors usually do it very quickly and leave within half an hour due to the exposure to the sun and lots of walking. If you are interested in such a fantastic example of ancient engineering, then... More
