This 394-foot mural along the wall in the Royal Mews courtyard depicts a parade of Saxony rulers, some walking, others on horseback. Scratched into stucco by the artist in 1876, the mural was later recast onto porcelain tiles and, incredibly, survived the 1945 bombing of Dresden that destroyed most buildings.

Survived both the High Explosives and the Cookies, so go and see it. Adjacent to the Schloss.....which didn't fare so well.

The parade of the princes of Dresden, with the later ones this week (late 19th-century and later?) behind scaffolding. Impressive as decoration, even if the names mean nothing to you.

After plenty of hype I was expecting something more, although I'm not sure exactly what. This is a very large mural, some 400 feet long, depicting a Saxon parade of Princes. Quite well done and occupying almost the full length of the street, it is...More

They're not very big, probably 30x30cm. The tiles are a yellow/beige colour with a geometric pattern on them and the artwork of the Princes is over the top. They're about the size of the tiles that you might see clad on the... More

Don't get too excited over this mural. It's interesting ... apparently you can see the development of horse breeding through the ages ... and there are the ex stables behind it. However, it's just a wall with ceramic tiles... More
