This 394-foot mural along the wall in the Royal Mews courtyard depicts a parade of Saxony rulers, some walking, others on horseback. Scratched into stucco by the artist in 1876, the mural was later recast onto porcelain tiles and, incredibly, survived the 1945 bombing of Dresden that destroyed most buildings.

It's a great experience to see the history of Germany on the wall, as it evolved! Each leader was magnificent. Just walk the length of the wall and read the names, years. It's so easy!

Follow the wall to the Right and you'll see a wonderful bridge, the whole building is adorned in artwork, visit before the sun sets to see this building in all its glory, and the river nearby at night for romantic lighting and signts.

I was told this is the largest porcelain tiled boulevard in Germany, and it didn’t get destroyed in the WWII bombing. It’s free, and worth a look on the way to the other major sights.

101 meters long wall telling the history of Dresden with 24000 porcelain tiles. Compared to Dresden city center not so much damaged during WW II. Just admire the beauty.

This is very interesting pice of art. It used to be different technique but it faded away and one of the porcelain manufacture did it all in porcelain. Make sure you find August II the strong, he looks different than other kings and dukes.

This mural is along a wall on the way to the Royal castle and is worth stopping to note the artistry of and depiction of each Prince. It was well done and the last part was being renovated when we visited.

It deserves a visit whenever you visit Dresden. It´s like a museum in the middle of the Street. I recommend going before it get dark so that you can see the small details

They're not very big, probably 30x30cm. The tiles are a yellow/beige colour with a geometric pattern on them and the artwork of the Princes is over the top. They're about the size of the tiles that you might see clad on the... More

Don't get too excited over this mural. It's interesting ... apparently you can see the development of horse breeding through the ages ... and there are the ex stables behind it. However, it's just a wall with ceramic tiles... More
